International Day of Clean Energy and the International Reducing CO2 Emissions Day

Did you know that January 26 and 28 are two very important days in terms of environmental sustainability? These are the “International Day of Clean Energy” and the “International Reducing CO2 Emissions Day”.

Discover why they are so important and our approach at Dacsa Group:

The much-needed energy sector is a major player in GHG emissions. Therefore, on the path to avoid an increase in the planet’s average temperature, above 1.5ºC, a radical reduction in emissions is necessary, which essentially entails the decarbonization of the energy sector.

It is the responsibility of the whole of society to work on it and the responsible consumption of energy is a need that Dacsa Group is no stranger to.

This is why we promote actions aimed at reducing emissions, focusing mainly on energy consumption. Among our most recent actions, we can highlight the acquisition of a Biomass Cogeneration plant in Dacsa Valencia (which uses rice husk waste as fuel), the upcoming installation of solar panels in our Dacsa Seville factory and the purchase of Energy with Guarantees of Origin in Dacsa Poland.

This is an example of the work carried out during 2023, which is added to previous initiatives and which aims to reduce Dacsa Group’s emissions by 57% by 2030 with respect to Scope 1 and 2 calculated in 2019. Currently, the Group has managed to reduce these emissions by 30%.

Let’s renew every day our commitment to consume Clean Energy on the road to Emission Reduction!
