DACSA MOLENDUM participates in the project CEBALIMENT to develop barley varieties for human consumption.
The overall objective of this project is the development and validation of new varieties of barley and derivatives (flour, semolina, and other ingredients) with nutraceutical and technological properties adapted to current market requirements, which demand healthier foods with natural ingredients and new food products through the technological properties of the ingredients.

The project proposes an overall performance for optimizing both the genetic selection of barley varieties as the characterization and selection of these based on agronomic and environmental parameters (production, fertilization and rainfall among others) and the nutritional content, and finally the quality and functionality of end use (bread-making, semolina or other ingredients capacity) taking into account the food safety standards of selected varieties and derived products.
CEBALIMENT is within the State Program for Research, Development and Innovation under the State Plan of Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation 2013-2016.
