Dacsa Group joins KM ZERO Venturing to boost foodtech innovation

As an agri-food company, Dacsa Group has joined the third edition of KM ZERO Venturing, a pioneering initiative in Spain that seeks to promote open innovation and strategic investment in the food industry.

In addition, this year, the programme will redefine its focus to attract more mature foodtech projects with the potential to develop in the short term.

The initiative, which was presented at Alimentaria 2024, will launch five thematic calls throughout the year, at key events such as Food4Future in Bilbao and SIAL in Paris.

These calls are designed to connect emerging startups with large corporations and investors, focusing efforts on critical areas of innovation such as new proteins, sustainable packaging, zero footprint, health and nutrition, and digitisation.

With the support of strategic partners such as ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones and IESE Business School, and the financial backing of more than 20 venture capital funds, KM ZERO Venturing seeks to revolutionise the food chain from a collaborative and co-creation perspective.

“The refocusing of the programme responds to the evolution of the foodtech sector, which is moving towards projects that are not only scalable, but that offer concrete and viable solutions to the current challenges of the industry”, explains Raúl Martín, CEO of KM ZERO Food Innovation Hub.

With this initiative, Dacsa Group once again reflects its ongoing commitment to innovation and sustainable development, reinforcing its position as a key player in driving new food solutions that are both sustainable and technologically advanced.
